What is orbital welding used for?

Especially for hygienic piping, welding exotic metals, and critical process lines where quality must not waver. The method is superior when piping requires perfect internal surface smoothness and 100% repeatable quality – for example, in the pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries.

How do you ensure weld cleanliness?

Cleanliness is the most important stage of the process. We ensure it on three levels:

  • Preparation: Pipe ends are mechanically processed and chemically cleaned before joining.
  • Purge gas: A shielding gas (e.g., Argon) is used inside the pipe to displace oxygen and prevent the weld from “burning,” i.e., oxidizing from the inside.
  • Oxygen measurement: We digitally measure the residual oxygen level (ppm) before every weld. The arc will not strike until the oxygen level is within permissible limits.
Are all welds documented?

Yes. The orbital equipment automatically records the welding parameters (current, voltage, speed) for every seam. At the end of the project, we deliver a complete handover package containing the weld log, material certificates, and, if required, the results of endoscopic inspections (video checks).
